I’m a born and bred New Yorker who loves my hometown and everything it has to offer. Whether you have a full day or a few hours, I can show you the Big Apple’s major sights, some less traveled landmarks and attractions, and things that you won’t always find in the guidebooks.
Just tell me what you want to see and when you’ll be here, and I’ll design a custom tour tailored to you and/or your group.
Or, take one of my carefully curated Welcome tours for a full- or half-day and you’ll see the city's iconic highlights like the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty and much more.
If you’re an art lover, you’re in luck. Besides my work as a
licensed NYC sightseeing guide, I’ve been an online art critic for many years and am up on the latest offerings in New York’s exciting galleries and museums. Try my gallery tours of the Chelsea or Lower East Side art districts, or I can show you highlights of the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art), MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) or New York’s newest gem, the Whitney Museum of American Art.
As a former guide on a double-decker sightseeing bus, I specialized in the Upper Manhattan route, including the Upper West Side, the Lincoln Center area and Harlem and can design and lead walking tours of those areas too.
We’ll meet at your Manhattan hotel or at a convenient centralized location.
Women traveling solo and small family groups welcome. Ask about special group rates. Please let me know what you'd like to see, and we can work together!
ALISON'S NYC WALKING TOURS REVIEWS
I don't think I ever enjoyed contemporary art more than I did on Alison's Chelsea Art Galleries tour!
She's extremely knowledgeable about art and the latest shows and artists, and she took us places we would never have found on our own --for instance an unassuming loft building filled with small galleries on each of its 6 or so floors. We also went to one of the big-name galleries (I forget which) for an exhibit of small pieces by Henry Moore, with the bonus of an outdoor rooftop terrace with a fantastic view of the Chelsea skyline. I highly recommend!
